Feeling Overwhelmed But Not Sure Why?

Sometimes people contact me with a clear reason for seeking counselling. More often, they don't.

They simply know that something doesn't feel right. Perhaps you're feeling emotional more often than usual.

Perhaps you're constantly tired, irritable, anxious, or struggling to cope with things that once felt manageable.

You may not be able to put your finger on exactly what's wrong. And that's okay.

A common misconception

  • Many people believe they need a specific problem before they can come to counselling.

  • They worry they'll be wasting time if they can't explain exactly what's going on.

  • In reality, counselling can be particularly helpful when you're feeling confused, stuck, or overwhelmed.

You don't need to have all the answers

You don't need a diagnosis, you don't need a crisis, you don't need a carefully prepared list of things to talk about.

You simply need a willingness to begin.

How I work

My person-centred approach allows space for us to explore whatever emerges naturally in our sessions.

Together, we can make sense of thoughts, feelings, experiences and challenges that may currently feel difficult to understand.

If you've been thinking "I just need someone to talk to", counselling may be a helpful place to start.

Thinking About Counselling?

You don't need to have all the answers before reaching out.

If you'd like to discuss whether counselling might be right for you, I'd be happy to hear from you.
